Masterful Mindsets – A Touch of Peace and Love
Question:
What feeling do you want others to get from you? Kindness, compassion, encouragement, love? Are you giving that or do they only feel anger, hatred, discouragement and discontent? Are you putting out good vibes or creating waves of unhappiness?
Action Challenge:
With all the acts of hate and violence that have been going on in the world lately and the way the media reports it, it’s easy to focus on and blame a collective whole. But I think we lose site of the fact that the tremendous tidal wave of hate began long ago with the first touches of fear and disdain. And if we pull back to look at the ripple we are creating in our own lives, we see that every touch of love or hate creates more of the same.
I certainly don’t have the answer for how to turn our world around but I do know that I want to reach out as far as I can and do my part to touch the world with empowerment and love. And perhaps, if we all do our part, we can each turn our own ripple into a tidal wave of love and peace for all.
My challenge for you is to think about how you are showing up in the world and how your life touches others. Who’s lives do you have an opportunity to touch daily? You’d be surprised when you think about it. Of course your family and close friends would be the most obvious and important place to start. But don’t forget the clerk at the grocery store, the co-worker, the random stranger you bump into on the street.
You have an opportunity to touch lives with the simplest of gestures and you never know how far that touch will reach. You may have been hurt or wronged in the past. But the only way to stop that ripple from growing into a large wave is to be that change. Be cognizant of every encounter you have this week and make every touch count for good. Maybe if more of us put good into the world, we really can create a tidal wave of peace and love.
