Masterful Mindsets ~ Back to School Time Means Back on Track for You Time
“Get back on track after being derailed; your journey has just begun.” ~ Scottie Somers
Question:
Did you play a little too much this summer? What goals, projects or ideas did you slack off on or completely put off during the summer that you now realize you must get accomplished? Are you ready to push the reset button and get back on track? What do you want to achieve before the end of the year?
Action Challenge:
Today is the first day of fall! Wow… where has the time gone?
I see it every year… summer comes around and everyone is ready for a vacation. The anticipation of fun in the sun has people losing their focus and quite honestly, slacking off. People let their schedules get laxed and their goals often get put on hold.
Then as fall rolls around, the stark realization that they’ve been slacking off for far too long hits them in the face and they can’t seem to shake the nagging feeling that because they’ve been playing or procrastinating a little too much, they may not reach the goals they’ve set for themselves this year. Sound familiar?
If you can relate, then grab your pumpkin spice latte and keep reading because this week’s Masterful Mindset is a must for you! Plus, I have some really great news…
Right now, is the perfect time to get back on track and finish the year strong!
Why? Well for starters, as I mentioned, it’s the first day of fall. A time when nature begins to change and shed the old through beautiful colors. The last quarter of the year is just around the corner. And if you have a social media presence of any kind, then it’s likely that over the last few weeks, your feed has been blowing up with pictures of people posting their children’s first day of school. If you have children of your own, then you were probably in on that brigade of back to school bombardment. Which means, you know that back to school time is a natural starting point for a new beginning.
Everyone is excited for the next chapter in their children’s lives. It’s a time for new goals and new adventures. New friends and new experiences. New knowledge and new achievements.
Let’s face it, there’s something exciting about pushing the reset button and starting over. Which is a large part of what makes this time of year the perfect time to get your own life and goals back on track. You get to push your own reset button!
Plus, it’s the time when people tend to get back into a routine and are more likely to follow a schedule. And that can play a big role in your success. More on this concept soon. But for now…
My challenge to you is to spend some time this week getting very clear on the goals you would like to achieve by the end of the year. Health goals, business or financial goals, relationship goals, self-improvement goals… whatever the case, spend some time this week thinking about what you need and want to do to get back on track. Trust me – it’s not too late to make those summer goals or hey, even those New Year’s Resolutions, achievable before the end of the year. But the time to push the reset button is now!
