Masterful Mindsets ~ Demonstrate Courage and Be Your Own Hero
“Everything you need to be great is already inside you. Stop waiting for someone or something to light your fire. You have the match.” ~ Darren Hardy
Question:
If you had your own hero, what would you want them to do for you? Are you waiting for someone to fix your past mistakes? Are you hoping someone will protect you? Are you dreaming of someone swooping you away from your current life into something better? Are you wishing someone would save you? And who is this someone anyway?
Action Challenge:
Maybe that someone is you…
This entire month we have been talking about things that elicit fear in us and how to have courage to overcome them.
We’ve covered health scares, knowing full well that the best prevention is being proactive by taking care of yourself and getting regular checkups.
We’ve talked about how the monstrous inner critic feeds our fear of judgement and how important it is to quiet the critic by making a non-judgement policy for yourself.
Then I pointed out that a lack of clarity is really a lack of courage. And I gave you some simple signs to help you recognize when your lack of clarity is a lack of courage and two powerful questions you can ask yourself to move forward.
And of course, last week, we talked about how self-doubt is more of a dream killer than failure ever could be. I shared how getting clarity, eliminating judgement and having faith in yourself and your ability to figure things out would help you get a handle on your self-doubt.
So, with all that… what is the common denominator? YOU – no one else can do this for you. You have to believe in yourself. You have to move past your fears. You have to demonstrate courage and be your own hero.
My challenge for you is to step up to the plate and be your own hero! No more waiting for someone else to fix things for you. No more blaming someone else or your past for your present. And definitely no more being paralyzed by your fears.
What would you do if someone you love really needed you to step up and act courageously? You’d do it right? What would you do to ensure that someone you care about was given the best opportunities to be healthy, happy, confident and successful? You’d help them. So do it for yourself.
Love and care about yourself enough to do it for yourself. It’s time for you to demonstrate courage and be your own hero. And if you aren’t sure you can do it for yourself, then start with taking courageous acts because of the people you love. Think about them when you step out of your comfort zone to take a risk. Getting clear about why you would take actions and who it would benefit, is a great way to build courage.
Sometimes you have to feel the fear and do it anyway. Stepping into courage to be your own hero will not only help you but it will no doubt benefit all those whose lives you touch.
