Masterful Mindsets – Change Perspective To See The Light

“Sometimes a change of perspective is all it takes to see the light.” ~ Dan Brown

Question:

What is your perspective on life? Do you see the light or the darkness most often? Do you believe in the power of your mind to change that perspective? And do you believe that change in perspective can ultimately change your life?

Action Challenge:

The mind is so powerful! That’s why mindset mastery is such a huge part of what I coach. Your life is as much a matter of your mindset, as it is any circumstance or situation you experience in it. If you can control your thoughts to believe that life is good and you are going to be okay, then you will feel empowered to get through any obstacle that arises. If you have an attitude of defeat and allow negative thoughts into your head, then you will remain a victim of your own mind and defeat will plague you.

Don’t get me wrong, I know that heartaches and hardships can and do happen. It’s pretty much guaranteed that we will all experience many struggles throughout our lifetimes. But the power of your mind and a shift in perspective can help you see the light and essentially change your life. Your perspective changes your experience. Your current circumstances might not actually change immediately. But when your perspective of them changes, so does your life. And that change in perspective can happen immediately. From there… what you believe in, can become your reality.

So how do you get rid of the negative thoughts in your mind and start thinking in a positive light? Of course, practices like meditation and prayer are always extremely helpful. But what I want to focus on today is awareness and conscious thought. The power to control and direct your mind starts first with the awareness of what you’re thinking and what you want to be thinking. If you know you are prone to being a pessimist and are ready to change that way of thinking, then begin by being aware of the negative thought patterns you have most often. What is the theme? What limiting belief is at the root of that pattern or theme? And most importantly, how can you change your perspective so that you create a new truth for yourself around that theme?

When that thought creeps into your consciousness, you can choose to change it in that moment. It may sound simple and in every sense of the exercise it is. However, it does take practice and effort. But, why not give it a try? If you don’t like who you have become and your current perspective is bringing you down, then you can choose to make the conscious effort to change it. You can’t always control what happens in your life, but you can control how you react to every situation. The smallest change in perspective can transform your life.

My challenge to you is to become aware of your thoughts. Keep them in check and if you find your perspective is consistently negative, it’s time to break the pattern. You are not a victim of your life, unless you choose to be. Finding happiness in life begins with deciding that you want to live a happy life. The power of the mind and the things you allow yourself to focus on can become the pivot point your life revolves around. It’s time to release your mind from negativity and change your perspective to a more positive light.
