Masterful Mindsets ~ Do You Need Clarity Or Do You Just Need Courage?

“A lack of clarity and focus is often times not a clarity issue but a courage issue.” ~ Michelle Weimer

Question:

Do you find that you often have a lack of clarity and focus on what your next goals in life are going to be? Do you find that you have a lack of clarity when it comes to what your next action steps are? Do you find that sometimes you even have a lack of clarity in terms of what your lifelong dreams are?

Action Challenge:

If you answer yes to all of this week’s questions, then I have to tell you that odds are high, it’s not that you don’t have enough clarity about what you want in your life, it’s that you don’t have enough courage or that you are most likely afraid of the outcome. Often times when it comes to a lack of clarity or focus on what someone’s goals are that they really want to achieve, there’s a fear that they may not be able to achieve it. Or that they will fail if they try. So, they stay stuck in uncertainty – in a lack of clarity.

Basically, what happens is when you aren’t clear and you say that you don’t really know what you want or you don’t really know what your next actions step needs to be, then you can stay stuck there. Pretending that if you don’t know then you can’t move forward. You just stay there, thinking you are safe. You’re not really safe but it feels safer than taking that leap of faith – taking that risk to step out and take action or go after your dreams. So, if you find that you are someone who often times has a lack of clarity, then realize that it’s a lack of courage. It’s time to ask yourself, what you are afraid of.

My challenge to you is to pay attention and recognize when you are having a lack of clarity. Catch yourself when you get stuck saying things like, “I don’t know what I want.” or “I don’t know what I should do next.” Just stop that conversation in your head and instead ask, “What am I fearing right now and what do I need to do to have the courage to move past the fear so I can make the decision, get clarity about what I what, and what I need to do next?” And then get moving!

I want you to really put into practice this idea that lack of clarity is not a clarity issue, it’s a courage issue. Have courage, get clear on those goals and those dreams, then start taking action.
