Masterful Mindset – THE IMPORTANCE OF ENERGY (And assessing the habits that are increasing or draining your energy.)

“Energy and persistence conquer all things.” ~ Benjamin Franklin

Question:

On a scale of 1-10, how much energy do you have each day? Are you able to maintain that same level of mental and physical energy all day? What could/would you accomplish if you had more energy?

Action Challenge:

I’m a firm believer that when people say they need more time to get things done, what they really need most often, is more energy. Think about it… how is it that some people seem to get so much more done then others? We all have the same 24 hours in a day. Right? So what do some people have that others don’t? Well, for starters, I believe a large part of what makes some people more productive and successful, is their level of energy. Now don’t get me wrong, there are other factors… and I will be sharing more soon about how you can find out what else it takes to performer successfully at a high level in all areas of your life. But for now, we are going to focus on Energy because if you don’t have your health and the energy needed to succeed, the rest doesn’t matter.

To begin, I want to make two points clear. The first one is that our mental energy can affect our physical energy and vice versa. Hence, it’s important that we can achieve high levels of both on a regular basis. Which brings me to my second point. Having high energy – if you want to live a high-performance life, isn’t just about a one and done burst. It’s about being able to consistently sustain a high level of energy. So it’s not just about your level of vibrancy, it’s also about stamina. It’s about being able to sustain that high level consistently over long periods of time. What these two points basically mean is that if you want to be your best, it’s important for high mental and physical energy to become your norm.

The good news is, it’s not as difficult as you might think. The even better news? You have control of making this happen!

So, how do you do that? Well, at this point, you could probably rattle off a nice little list of the things you already know to be true, of ways to increase your energy levels. After all, some of this stuff is common sense. Right? But let me tell you what my mentor, Brendon Burchard would say. He’d say, “Common sense isn’t always common practice.” Can you relate?

So today, we aren’t going to start with me telling you how to do it. We are going to start with you evaluating what you are already doing to increase your energy and what you may be doing that is sucking your energy. In other words, let’s find out what your common practices really are and how they are affecting your energy and your health.

My challenge for you today is to do some journaling on your energy habits. Below are some prompts to get you started:

  • In the last three months, how have you felt energetically, in terms of your mental and physical vibrancy? Why do you think that is?
  • What physical, mental, emotional and spiritual habits do you currently have that are supporting your energy and overall health?
  • What habits do you have in those same areas that might be unhealthy or zapping your energy?
  • What routines do you have for recharging? (Daily, Weekly, Monthly, etc.)
  • Are there any areas of your life that are particularly stressful or draining energetically? If so, what are you doing for stress management?
  • Are there any people in your life that are energy vampires? (They are exhausting to be around because they suck the energy out of you.) How do you guard yourself or limit your time with them?

Once you’ve journaled on these questions, I want you to drop me a line. Yes! I’m serious… I told you I believe this topic is important.

I want you to send an email to support@michelleweimer.com and share with me, the one habit you have that you believe is your biggest energy drain. And one thing you would love to take on or try to achieve if you had more energy.

Then hang on tight because over the next few weeks I’m going to tell you how you can increase your mental and physical vibrancy and stamina! Oh and if you know someone who needs this information… please give them this link: https://MichelleWeimer.com/Energy so they can sign up to get this same great info. They will be so thankful that you shared it with them, maybe they’ll bake you a cake with all their extra energy. LOL! 😉
