Masterful Mindsets – Get Back In The Game!

“I could not, at any age, be content to take my place by the fireside and simply look on. Life was meant to be lived. Curiosity must be kept alive. One must never, for whatever reason, turn his back on life.”  ~Eleanor Roosevelt

Question: Have you turned your back on life? Have you taken yourself out of the game? Are you content sitting on the sideline watching as others pass you by? Have you lost your curiosity for what could be? What will it take for you to get it back? What will it take for you to get back in the game?

Action Challenge:

I read this week’s quote as I was sitting at my youngest daughter’s soccer practice. She plays on a competitive traveling team that she made the decision to try out for last spring. She was ready to challenge herself and push on to a higher level. So she practiced hard and went for it. This is now the second season she’s been playing with this team. And last weekend after her game, she said, “Mom, I’m so glad I decided to go for it and play with this team. I’m loving it and having so much fun.” She’s in the game and she’s kicking ass by the way! 😉

At some point in your life, you may have been hurt or disappointed. Perhaps you’ve tried and failed. Let’s face it, we all have! And when those things happen, it’s easy to become afraid to risk. And even easier to take yourself out of the game – to play it safe. So what in your life have you wanted to go for but have been holding back on because of fear? Or maybe you somehow ended up on a path you weren’t really wanting to go down. Have you settled for a mediocre life, wondering what might have been had you taken a different path? I have news for you.. no matter what occurred in the past, there is no better time then now to step fully into your life. How about looking forward to what could be… Aren’t you a little curious of how good things could be if you’d just decide to put yourself back into the game of life? To decide to go for it (whatever “it” is to you). Don’t turn your back on life and even more importantly, don’t look away from the dreams you have for your life. Face them head on and go for it.

My challenge for you is to get back in the game! Begin with researching something you are curious about doing, being or having in your life. You might be surprised to find that it’s not only quite obtainable, but it’s actually even closer than you think. Make a commitment to yourself that you will start living life full out. Turn your face in the direction of your dreams and begin moving towards them. Get back in the game!
