Masterful Mindsets ~ The Life Story You Tell Is The Life Story You Live

“If you keep telling the same sad small story, you will keep living the same sad small life.”  ~ Jean Houston

Question:

What does your life story say about you? If you were going to title your life story, what would it be called? What part do you play – the hero, the victim or even the villain of your story? Would it be a story of tragedy or triumph?

Action Challenge:

The story of your life can be written many different ways. You can make yourself the hero, the victim or even the villain. How you write it will greatly determine how you live it.

We all have a life story. It’s part of what makes us who we are. It’s our experiences, our choices and our perception of our life. The life story you tell is the life story you live.

We choose how we write it and the choices we make help create it. But all too often people tend to focus more on the low points then the highlights of their life story.

A couple weeks ago, in another Masterful Mindset called Spring Clean Your Mind, I asked you to pay attention to the thought patterns, limiting beliefs, fears and old stories that play over and over in your head. These thought patterns can subconsciously sabotage your future story if you aren’t careful. But remember, you are the author. You write your own story.

My Challenge to you is to write your life story to this point. Think about what type of story it is – a story of tragedy or triumph? What will the title be? What role will you play? You can be the victor and hero of your story. It’s time to stop writing the same old sad small story and instead choose to rewrite the parts that don’t empower or serve you. Write your life story as you want to live it!
