Masterful Mindsets ~ Love the Work You Do

“Let us realize that: the privilege to work is a gift, the power to work is a blessing, the love of work is success!”  ~ David O. McKay

Question:

Do you love what you do for a living? Are you passionate about your life’s work? Do the parts you enjoy outweigh the parts you don’t? If not, what needs to change?

Action Challenge:

I was invited to speak on a radio show last week to talk about how I became a coach and the benefits of life coaching. It was so much fun and I realized that part of why it was so fun is because I am so passionate about what I do. It is my life’s work, what I believe I was destined to do and I truly love it.

So what about you? Do you love what you do? Are you passionate about you’re life’s work?

Whether you are the CEO of a multi-million dollar company, a stay at home mom (And don’t kid yourself – that is a full time job!) or an entrepreneur – of a home based business or otherwise – I want you to ask yourself if you love what you do. And if the answer isn’t a passionate YES, then I want you to take this week’s challenge seriously. Because life is too short not to love what you do and it doesn’t matter how much money you make, if you don’t love it, it will never fulfill you or feel like a true success.

My challenge to you this week is to take some time to reflect on the work you are doing in your life right now. Think about the parts of it that are rewarding, the stuff that you love doing. And of course, there will be parts that come up that you don’t love – the daily, weekly, monthly duties that aren’t your favorite. But that’s okay… as long as the core of what you do is what you love, as long as the good outweighs the bad and as long as you are happy doing what you’re doing.

If not then what would you like to be doing? What would it take for you to be doing something you love and are passionate about? Maybe it’s time to go back to school. Maybe it’s time to polish up your resume. Maybe it’s time to hire a coach to get some clarity about what you really want to be doing as your life’s work. Or maybe, it’s just time to remember why you started doing what you’re doing in the first place. Get the passion back and gain a renewed send of love for your job and what you’re doing with your life. Whatever the case, if you don’t feel you love your work then it is time to take action to change that. And if you do find after reflecting on your work, that you love it – well then – Congratulations! As our quote tells us today, that is the true meaning of success!
