Masterful Mindsets ~ Productivity is Key to Success but Productivity is Never an Accident

“Productivity is never an accident. It is always the result of a commitment to excellence, intelligent planning, and focused effort.” ~ Paul J. Meyer

Question:

How committed are you to your success? Do you have a plan to reach your goals? Are you focused on taking the actions necessary to be productive?

Action Challenge:

Over the last several weeks I’ve shared with you that productivity is a key component to success so today, let’s review and get you ready to accomplish more then you ever dreamed possible for yourself.

Your level of productivity and success can be directly affected by your level of clarity, your level of energy and your level of courage.

Setting yourself up for success when it comes to productivity starts with making sure you have a clear vision for what your goals and dreams are. Know what you want and why you want it. The deeper connection you have to why you want it will help you stay motivated.

Then preparing and creating a clear plan is extremely helpful for keeping yourself on track. Make sure you have a timeline for completion of the project as well as the tasks/actions necessary to move you in the direction you want to go and get you to the goal. (Scheduling time blocks to work can be very helpful.)

This is where having enough sustained energy (both mental and physical) comes into play. In order to stay focused and take the actions needed to be productive – high energy isn’t just important, it’s necessary. So think about your energy level right now… do you have the energy you need to consistently work toward your dream at a high level? If not, then what habits might you need to change so you can increase your mental and physical energy? Improving your vibrancy is one of the easiest ways to increase your potential for productivity.

And then of course, as discussed last week… having the courage to get clear and actually take the necessary actions, despite fear of failure or worry that you aren’t good enough or can’t do it… that’s when things really get done. Right?

Making a commitment to your dreams and taking action despite fear, takes courage. And when your courage waivers, it’s easy to let any little excuse or distraction detour you from your goal. If you notice that you’re procrastinating, hesitating, making excuses (and honestly, let’s be real here, most of our “reasons” are really just excuses) then check your courage level. Ask yourself what your bravest and boldest self would do… then do it! Get moving on that dream.

And above all… remember that you are not alone. Ask for help if you need it. It might take courage but it will move you forward faster than trying to go it alone. Have the courage to share your dream with others too, so you can get support, encouragement and even accountability.

As a matter of fact, I highly encourage you to plan for it when you plan your strategy for completing a project. Do your best to have the support and resources that you think you might need at the ready. When you do that, then there’s less chance of delay and/or worse, not finishing.

Being productive is not only rewarding in and of itself, but productivity is key to success. So make that commitment, get a clear plan and focus your efforts on being highly productive towards succeeding at your dreams today. You’ll be amazed at what you can accomplish!
