Masterful Mindsets ~ Get Your Purpose and Passion Back in Your Life’s Work

“The success of your life’s work is fueled by the love you have for that work. And that love is nurtured when you keep your purpose and passion in the forefront of everything you do.” ~ Michelle Weimer

Question:

Have you lost the passion and love you had for the work you do? Have you forgotten what your purpose is? How do you get your purpose and passion back? How do you start enjoying your life’s work again?

Action Challenge:

I heard from several of you after last week’s Masterful Mindset. It definitely hit a tender spot. So I decided to take this topic a bit farther. And today, I’m starting with getting your purpose and passion back. Because for many of you, it’s not that you don’t love what you do, it’s just that as you go through the mundane routines of day to day tasks at work, you might be feeling like the passion and zeal you had for your career has been replaced with a dull, repetitive rut.

So how do you get the purpose and passion back?

Remember why you chose that work in the first place. What was it that you loved about the idea of doing that work? What parts of what you do, do you truly love doing? Have you lost sight of those things because you’ve gotten bogged down in emails and meetings? How can you get back to doing more of what you love about your work?

Remember who you serve. No matter what you do, even if you are not in a service-based business, your work still serves someone somehow. Get in touch with that. When you can put a face to those who benefit from your efforts, it provides a connection that is tied to your purpose which in turn, strengthens your purpose and your passion.

Remember what you want for your future. Tap back into that dream you have for your life. Get back on the track of working towards those goals. It’s easy to be so entrenched in the day to day tasks that need to be done that we forget to set our sights on something bigger. That dream we have for our lives can get lost somewhere along the way. But what better time to get back on track, then now?

My challenge for you is to hit the reset button on your life’s work. If you have lost sight of your purpose and no longer feel you have passion for what you do then make a full commitment to get back in touch with why you do what you do and what you love about it. Look for ways to do more of the parts you love. And commit to showing up fully with a renewed sense of purpose and passion.

What does this mean? It means, no matter what you do, do it with purpose and passion.

You’ll perform better, you’ll be happier, you’ll serve at a higher level and as a result, those around you will benefit more greatly if you act with purpose and passion. And when those you serve benefit, your success increases.
