Masterful Mindsets ~ The Words That Define You
“Don’t let the words of others define you. Instead, define yourself and live fully into your own words.”
Question:
Are you clear about the kind person you want to be, for others and for yourself? How would you need to show up every day in order to be your best self and live your life to your highest potential?
Action Challenge:
If you missed my Facebook Live last week then you will definitely want to be sure you read on…
In this Masterful Mindset I’m giving you another great tip for how to create a theme for your year that will help you be your best self and take your life to the next level.
This is an easy yet powerful exercise to help you get clarity on your theme for the year, by picking three words that you would want to define you this year.
Let’s get started…
One – Choose a word that would describe the kind of person you want to be for others. This is a word that would define how you want to show up in your relationships or as a role model.
Two – Choose a word that depicts the kind of person you want to be for yourself. This might be a word that you will want to show up as every day in order to help you be your best in your professional life, your studies, your home life, etc. What word might describe who you’d have to be in order to be proud of who you are?
Three – Choose a word that would describe the person you want to become this year overall. This would be a word to describe your ideal self.
All three words would be words you would use to describe the best of who you are and/or who you could be. These would be words that you’d be proud to have other people describe you as because they reflect the truest and best version of you.
And then once you have your words, take some time to think about why those are your words. Why they are meaningful to you. This piece is really critical so don’t skip it. Knowing your deep “why” (in other words, your deep reason why showing up this way is a necessity for you this year) will be the thing that keeps you motivated and focused on living by your words every day.
Now, take out your phone and set an alarm for at least twice a day. Name that alarm using your three words. When the alarm goes off, it will be your daily reminder to live by your words. At the time your alarm goes off, stop for a moment, take a deep breath as you read the words on your screen, let them sink in. Ask yourself, “Am I living by those words right now?” And of not, make an adjustment. Let that alarm reminder be like a reset button for you to get back to showing up fully as the person you want to be, as described in those three words.
When you do that and begin to practice it daily, you’ll be amazed at how that sets the foundation for creating a year you can be excited for because you’ll be showing up as your best self, a person you can certainly be proud of.
***Oh and by the way, in last week’s Facebook Live, I also shared what my theme is for this year. You’ll probably want to know what that is because it means you are going to be getting even more great content and value from me this year. 😉
So if you didn’t watch it, CLICK HERE to check it out! And be sure you join me this Tuesday, January 15th at 2pm Eastern, on my Facebook Biz Page: Coach Michelle Weimer. I’ll be talking more about why having clarity is so important to your success this year.
